Stuck in Minnesota

I was very excited for my first blog post. I had a trip planned to our country’s capital, Washington D.C. I thought it was going to be so awesome to start my blog with all the amazing things in D.C. that make America. I woke up at 4:30 this morning ready to get away from the negative degree temps and three feet of snow in Minnesota. I got my breakfast at the airport and boarded the plane. I started a French movie I had downloaded on Netflix. Suddenly there was an announcement. “We are having mechanical issues with our right engine, please wait while we take a look.” We waited on the plane for an hour until they cancelled our flight. There wasn’t anymore flights today going to Baltimore that could fit my whole family. They gave us vouchers and put us in a hotel for the night. The problem was that we had a whole day to kill and no vehicle. There wasn’t much for us to do, as we are from Minnesota. Our hotel offered a shuttle to the Mall of America, so we spent the afternoon at the movie theater and eating lots of food. We wanted to check into our hotel as soon as possible, because we were all tired. Now I’m sitting in my hotel bed in freezing Minnesota, just dreaming about the warm weather in D.C. I’m just hoping we will make it there tomorrow!! 🤞🏻
