I am way off on my posting, but I’m trying to catch up. On Tuesday we did the must-dos of D.C. before we did our walking around the city we went to the Holocaust museum. The Holocaust and World War II have always interested me. I like to think in another life I lived in the early 1900s. The museum was neat. Before you go up the elevator to the beginning of the museum, you are given an identification card. These cards each have a different identity of Jews from the Holocaust. They have the story of this person and what they endured due to their religion. It was interesting. The museum was big, with its three floors. I found it interesting, but after visiting Eastern Europe and Aushwitz this didn’t’t leave a huge of an impact on me. I think the best way to learn about an event like this is to visit the places where it occurred. In Europe I saw the gas chambers and their bunks. I experienced emotions I never have really felt and was forever changed from that experience. Anyway, after the museum we went for lunch. We actually ate at the Department of Agricultures. They had a cafeteria there open to the public. That way each of my family members got to eat what they wanted. I had sushi. Well sort of. It was chicken sushi, but I am still going to count it as sushi. After lunch we did the memorials. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. 😉

We also visited the National Archives, but due to some rules I couldn’t take pictures. I got to see the original Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. It was a cool experience, so I’m kind of glad I couldn’t take pictures. It was more about living in the moment and experiences than taking pictures I may never look at again. It was a fun day, although it was cold. I kept telling myself that at least it was warmer than Minnesota. ❄️
