“Switzerland is a small, steep country, much more up and down than sideways, and is all stuck over with large brown hotels built on the cuckoo clock style of architecture.”
-Ernest Hemingway
One of my favorite parts of Switzerland: water! I have only been to Switzerland twice briefly, but each time I absolutely loved it. I am from a state known for it lakes, but I think Switzerland’s lakes are some of the world’s bests from Lake Lugano in to south to Lake Zurich in the north. Somehow everything is Switzerland is the brightest it could be. The lakes are a beautiful shade of blue and green. The landscape is very green with the sun shining down on the white towering alps. I need to spend more time in Switzerland, but it is true that it is an expensive country, so it is best explored in increments. Switzerland is definitely a country for the nature lovers, but there is lots of things to do in the cities as well and there is a lot of culture to explore with its three distinct regions based of language; the German speaking north, the Italian speaking south, and the French speaking west. Sadly, I have not visited the French speaking region, YET. I know some people! Enjoy my posts and pictures from the country that keeps me wanting to come back for more, Switzerland!
